Sujata Setia

Sujata Setia is an Indian-born lens-based artist, now residing in the UK. After studying history at LSR, Delhi, Setia completed Master’s in International Relations at King’s College London. She has a background in journalism that informs her research-based, socially engaged practice.

Sujata combines traditional artistic interventions and photography to call attention to the boundaries of cultural imperialism, where subaltern histories are exiled.

Her ongoing photographic work A Thousand Cuts has received various honours, including the 2024 Lens Culture Critics’ Choice Top 10 and winning the Creative category of the Sony World Photography Awards.
