October = G5A Season 2022 – 23 begins!
We kickoff the season with a sundowner DJ set with Tansane at the Terrace. The evening continues with Drum आणि Bass featuring Azu at the Black Box – a performance you won’t want to miss.
About Tansane
Tansane strives to find new and innovative production and performance techniques to blend together melodies, harmonies, and time signatures into a soundscape that has the listener undertaking a journey and thereby experiencing its ability to transform and translate the various nuances of reality. Having toured extensively throughout the country, Tansane has a great understanding of what music is required.
About Drum आणि Bass
The brainchild of bass player Nathan Thomas and drummer Dhir Mody, Drum आणि Bass evolved out of improvised jungle/drum and bass jams at 1403. The idea is to emulate electronic music ideas into a live performance setting. Within this format, the band explores jungle, footwork, drum n bass, dub and glitch beats.
Their album ‘1403 ‘ is a taste of Bombay through a different musical vocabulary.
1403 cements Drum आणि Bass’ position as bright artists on the horizon of the wide expanse of Drum and Bass that is yet to be discovered in India.
About Azu
Azamaan Hoyvoy(Azu) – a vocalist, songwriter, drummer, and producer, born and bred in Bombay. He is most well regarded as a versatile session vocalist and live singer, whether in his own projects or collaborating with other musicians, songwriters, composers, artists, and filmmakers.
