Introduction to LEGO® Serious Play®

Introduction to LEGO® Serious Play®

LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP)  is a powerful facilitation method that enables teams to express complex ideas, uncover hidden insights, and build (literally!) shared understanding. By constructing and sharing models using LEGO bricks, participants engage in metaphorical thinking, deepen their listening skills, and align around what really matters.

LSP was developed in the late 1990s by Johan Roos and Bart Victor, in collaboration with the LEGO Group, to help businesses enhance strategic thinking, communication, and team dynamics.

Methodology

LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP) workshops typically involve:

  1. Skills-building to warm up abstract thinking and storytelling.
  2. Individual  LEGO model building to explore identity, challenges, or aspirations.
  3. Shared  LEGO model creation to align around team goals or strategic direction.
  4. Action planning to translate insight into next steps.

Benefits

  1. Improved clarity on what motivates team members.
  2. Concrete ideas for improving collaboration and ownership.
  3. Team-level commitments to build a more empowering work environment.
  4. Individual insights into what each person needs to thrive.

(The entry fee for this session includes a set lunch from PORT Kitchen & Bar)
