Paper Making Workshop
Working in collaboration with Hapacoop, we organised an introductory workshop on hand paper-making with women from Worli Koliwada in September. Hand paper-making has minimum impact on the surroundings, as it uses waste paper, from magazines, newspapers, bill books, along with cotton rag pulp blocks to make handmade paper.
The participants were also part of local Self Help Groups (SHGs), and the idea of this training was to explore setting up a paper-making unit within the community that could be managed and run by the women’s groups. Through this activity, we strive to recycle, preserve our environment, and create opportunities for sustainable livelihoods and self reliance for the women.
