If you’d like to just say hello
At G5A, we believe that art and culture have the power to catalyze change for the better – by challenging people to think critically, creatively, and courageously.
Through a series of diverse programs and projects we are committed to nurturing a vibrant, safe, and inclusive platform that encourages the creative and just – in thought and expression.
In doing so, our endeavor is to enrich people’s lives, rebuild resilient and responsible communities, and strengthen the cultural fabric of our community and city.
Our work is framed through five elements:
history
The G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture was envisioned and founded by Anuradha Parikh, an architect and filmmaker based in Mumbai.
Her wide-ranging independent and collaborative projects and her commitment towards creating deeper socio cultural dialogues, have organically led to the formation of G5A, a multi-functional community space and cultural center in Central Mumbai.
G5A is a not-for-profit organization that encourages contemporary art and culture that is experimental and courageous, good governance that is inclusive and participatory, and ecosystems that are equitable and resilient.

our elements
G5A warehouse is a repurposed warehouse in the mill district of central Mumbai. We foster a creative hub for artists, audiences, and communities through our many diverse spaces. The black box, the study, the terrace, and PORT Kitchen & Bar, host programs across a range of contemporary art disciplines and forms, while providing a safe and inclusive space for new ideas, new conversations, and new connections.
G5A forum curates, co-creates, and produces interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary work that is bold, experimental, and just. We bring together artists and creative professionals for dialogues, debates, and conversations around their craft, motivations, aspirations, and response to context. We strongly support and encourage original work that is grounded in form, theory, and practice.
G5A cityLAB works with our neighborhood communities through the process of Mumbai Placemaking, by sensitizing people to the condition and emotions of a place, and by bringing together local communities, artists, creative professionals, government, and other stakeholders, to foster a culturally vibrant, inclusive, and resilient neighborhood.
G5A academy designs collaborative learning experiences with artists, for artists –reinforcing depth, rigor, and critical consciousness as well as enhancing creativity, innovation, and future thinking, within contemporary art practice. We also bring the focus back to the slow and mindful process of immersion through a deeper engagement with art and artists, legacy and the contemporary, and ideology and practice.
G5A imprint is a digital literary arts and culture magazine. We believe in the contemplative and reflective power of stories and storytelling. Each quarter follows a theme culminating with an annual print edition. Since our launch in October 2020, we have showcased work across a diverse range of mediums, formats, and perspectives.
