Acting for Cinema | Method Acting

Acting for Cinema | Method Acting

Acting for Cinema, an in-depth training course, creates immersive learning experiences for artists to strengthen rigor and innovation in practice. Continued professional education creates space for dialogue, critical examination of one’s practice, and refinement of one’s craft. The course also encourages coming together of like-minded individuals creating a network that offers support, guidance, and expertise.

A 2 week intensive and experiential course on Acting for Cinema pushes actors to redefine how they interpret performance, and portray stories and characters on/through film. Guided by faculty from The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, the course will deliver a holistic, multidisciplinary foundation and practical training – producing adept, disciplined, and confident actors for contemporary films/cinema.

About The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute
Created by Lee Strasberg, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute offers the professional and artistic tools for every actor to reach their maximum potential. The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute is the home for all actors seeking to delve into Method Acting and its tradition of training some of the world’s most brilliant and truthful actors.

The goal of all the programs offered by the Institute is to provide students with a craft that will help them create a reality and respond truthfully in imaginary circumstances, regardless of the style or form of material being used. Actors learn to express powerful emotions and are encouraged to leave behind conventional, superficial, and clichéd expressions in search of their own unique artistic voices. The Method trains actors to use their physical, mental, and emotional humanity in the creation of the script’s characters and stresses the way in which personal experience can fire the actor’s imagination.
