Anusha Datta
Anusha Datta is a Mumbai based documentary filmmaker. She draws personal narratives into her visual experimental projects and is passionate about urban wildlife conservation and culture studies. In 2019, she directed a short-documentary film, “Nissar: The Generation Game”, which premiered at G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture. The one year long project was produced by ANKH and Founder, Gauri Sharma Tripathi; to document the life and work of danseuse Guru Dr. Padma Sharma. The central aim of the collaboration was to achieve uniqueness in filming movement based choreography. Anusha hopes to build a body of work that brings new design to creating visual narratives of documenting Indian classical dance forms and re-define narratives from a South Asian perspective; seeking to revive ideas of realism through film and photography.
