Nitesh Mohanty
Nitesh Mohanty is a visual artist who graduated from Sir J.J. School of Art, Bombay & acquired post-graduation education from NID, Ahmedabad, specializing in Textile Design; He has been a design consultant to various brands within retail, fashion, media, publishing & hospitality industry. Over the last 16 years, he’s worked with clients such as Mocha Coffees and Conversation, Shoppers’ Stop, Penguin Books India, Rolling Stones, Smoke House Grill, Films Division, Children Films Society of India, Oxfam India, Amnesty International etc.
He was the co-founder of “The Root” a platform initiated to propagate various social, cultural, political & ecological concerns through various literary and creative mediums. He curates “The Root Reel” which showcased independent features, documentary, world cinema & animation films from closer home & across the world.
He is also a visiting faculty at School of Media and Culture Studies, TISS & FTII. He is currently heading the Crafting Creative Communication Programme at MICA where he shares the relationship between art, design, photography & cinema through a course called ‘Ways of Seeing’.
