Open Door Design Studio & Workshop
Open Door Design Studio & Workshop is a team of architects and creative professionals, based in Karachi, Pakistan. They strive to create spaces that bring a sense of joy, peace and comfort to people’s lives.
They are inspired by the human connection with the natural world. Their practice strives to remain rooted to that which is essential, and fundamental human principles.
They work across varying scales, exploring ideas ranging from the scale of a table to that of a school. Architecture is seen as a profound medium that leads to a good life, the practice of which can make the world a better and beautiful place.
Khayali, the story was conceptualized and written by Shehrebanu Nooruddin.
The process of imagining and creating its physical manifestation was a collaborative effort with Ilma Wasty, Hammad Jamil and Manahil Malik.
The photographs and illustrations were created by Hammad Jamil.
The model was made using papercrete and wax at the Open Door workshop.
