Cinema House, G5A presents a Retrospective with Shyam Benegal. Known and regarded as the pioneer of parallel or ‘middle’ cinema, Shyam Benegal is widely considered as one of the greatest filmmakers post the 1970s.
Shyam Benegal’s films have pushed audiences to leave the theatre with haunting questions, while also unravelling social complexities, exploring truth without judgement and having audiences engage with characters that are full-blooded and pulsating, in lived moments.
