Hadinelentu(Seventeeners) by Prithvi Konanur | Cinema House | North Meets South | Screening

Shot privately in a classroom of a college campus, the sex video of two 17-year-olds gets leaked on the internet leading to irreparable changes in the lives of every stakeholder.

Hadinelentu (Seventeeners) is a razor-sharp social commentary which also pursued its viewers to think deeper about the age of consent for sexual relationships, making it particularly relevant. The film navigates through markers of gender disparity, casteism and classism via it’s young protagonists.

A home production for the filmmaker (first under the banner Konanur Productions), the film is crowd-funded through a group of friends and film enthusiasts. The film was in the Recommends section of Film Bazaar 2021.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with the filmmaker.
