what a joy it is to see

Photo Essay by Shashank Jayaprasad

Here is my proposition:

Carry a small camera everywhere you go.
Use film –without colour.
Do not think. Do not plan.
It will be difficult. But try, anyway.

Look around you.
Pay attention to what you set your eyes on.
When you see it, you’ll know.

Take.
Take, again.
And again.

When you are done, rewind.

Put your film in a Ziploc and stash it away in the freezer.
Forget about it.
The fridge is now your time machine.

In a few years, when you are ready, go back.
Develop the film.
Look at it. Without colour.

Ask yourself–
Do you remember what a joy it was to see?
Do you really remember?

what a joy it is to see

what a joy it is to see
what a joy it is to see
