Baithak, a traditional concert series, creates an intimate space which embraces the subtle, unspoken moments between artist, instrument, and audience.


The next concert features Dr. Kaustuv Kanti Ganguli, a professional vocalist, scientist, and musicologist trained in Hindustani music tradition. Hailing from the Patiala gharana, he is proficient in Khayal, Thumri-Dadra, Bhajan, and other allied musical forms. Initiated into music at an age of 4, he has continued his musical training with vocal maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty as a scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. 

Some of his accolades include ‘Scholarship to Young Artiste’ from the Ministry of Culture (2010), President’s Award for winning the All India Radio National Competition (2011), Scholarship from the National Center for the Performing Arts (2012), ‘Gaanwardhan’ award, Pune (2018), ‘Yuva Gaandharva Puraskar’, Kankavli (2019), etc. Kaustuv is also an active academician, currently a Professor of Computing at the Zayed University, UAE. His research interest includes artificial intelligence in music, with a focus on computational musicology. He envisions deeply exploring pedagogy via scientific and humanistic ways and promoting experimental works on music production, analysis, and performance to converge his knowledge in music and technology fronts.

The concert will be hosted at the G5A Black Box which has been carefully designed for a pristine auditory experience.
