Film historian Ashish Rajadhyaksha discusses his book “John Ghatak Tarkovsky: Citizens, Filmmakers, Hackers”. Set around the 2015 protests by Film And Television Institute Of India (FTII) students, the book is an investigation of how “low-resolution moving images” that came out of it redefined not just student protest, but cinema, too.
With “Looking back; looking ahead,” we explore how filmmakers depict their present experiences, challenges, and the urgency driving their art.
