Arka Chakraborty

Arka is predominantly a self-taught pianist born in Calcutta, who has moved to Mumbai. He currently leads an ensemble called the ACT which is a jazz quartet. Apart from his quartet, he has performed alongside legendary Carlton Kitto, Ranjit Barot, Joe Alvarez, Jonathan Kay, Jody McBrayer, Purbayan Chatterjee, Tanmoy Bose, Satyajit Talwalkar, Avishek Dey, Mark Hartsuch and Shirish Malhotra to name a few at performance spaces like NCPA, Prithvi Theater, G5A, Max Mueller Bhavan, American Center, etc. Arka is currently an assistant professor at the SOPA, NMIMS, and has previously taught at the Calcutta School of music.
