That Friday Jazz | Ranjit Barot and Contraband
For the last concert of this season’s That Friday Jazz series, we present Ranjit Barot and Contraband.
The Contraband is an amalgamation of people that convey Ranjit’s influences and song writing in the jazz rock genre.
The band features highly capable and sensitive musicians that are able to interpret Ranjit’s unique writing abilities. With the bass force that is Mohini Dey, someone he has nurtured since she was 12 years old, to her husband Mark Hartsuch, a formidable saxophonist, to the ‘young guns’ Rahul Wadhwani and Arka Chakraborty, two sides of the same coin, this collective is able to turn the night’s performance on its head. Vasundhara Vee and Emmanuel Simon will also be joining the band for the concert at the G5A warehouse’s Terrace.
That Friday Jazz, a concert series, recreates the charming allure of Jazz nights at the G5A warehouse, set against the peaceful backdrop of Mumbai’s mill district. The evening promises to be really exciting with cocktails courtesy Fullarton Distilleries and Campari and a delectable menu by PORT Kitchen & Bar.
That Friday Jazz is supported by BNP Paribas.
We are grateful to our ticketing partner Paytm Insider and instruments partner Furtados Music.
