G5A Open Circle: Finding Voice | From Experience to Expression
G5A, along with BNP Paribas aim to initiate deep reflection, intimate conversations, and conscious action towards recognition and celebration of the Pride community with the cast and crew of Nava, a play directed by Sharanya Ramprakash from Dramanon, which tells the stories of 9 urban transwomen through the 9 rasas (Navarasas). Performed by transwomen from the Aravani Art Project, this play is a celebration of life through stories, music, and dancing!
Through the G5A Open Circle, we bring together different stakeholders to deliberate over a wide range of topics, to share their personal experiences, and work together towards collective action towards compassionate and resilient communities. In this session of Open Circle, we aim to engage in discussions around identity, freedom, and acceptance, art, culture, and expression.
Through the conversations, we will unravel the process of creating Nava; how it impacted the artists and the audiences, and the journey from experiencing to expressing. G5A and BNP Paribas will also share how organizations such as theirs work towards supporting marginalized voices and the steps they take towards encouraging acceptance.
Nava is showing at the G5A warehouse from Friday, April 01 to Sunday, April 03, 2022.
