Past Forward by Mallika Sarabhai

In this contemporary performance Mallika Sarabhai takes us on a time travel over the centuries of the dance style and evolution of the female voice, through her own work of four decades and her trans-continental collaborations. Starting with verses from the 12th century, travelling through time she brings the question of women’s progression under the scanner of caste and gender.

Through her multidimensional musical experience she inspires people to rethink conventional boundaries and strive for positive change.

Singer Aditi Ramesh brings in her special mix of Carnatic classical singing and jazz.
