Music Performance | Irfana Hameed and MaMoGi
We begin the evening with a performance by Irfana Hameed, the Kodaikanal-based emcee and trumpet player with a unique voice in the hip-hop scene, inspired by her Carnatic tradition, her commitment to Tamil culture coupled with her own femininity and fierce politics. Her performance will include elements of spoken word and rap.
The evening continues with the trio of MaMoGi, made up of saxophonist Mark Hartsuch, bass guitarist Mohini Dey, and drummer Gino Banks, as they celebrate music at its most collaborative. Ranging from progressive rock, to jazz, to electronic music, prepare yourself for a night of riotous sonic encounters.
